Dans le cadre du projet Jeune Théâtre Européen Jeune Public dédié à la création plurilingue, l’Espace des Arts et les 6 partenaires européens associés ont réuni 21 artistes – auteurs/dramaturges, metteurs en scène, comédiens. De janvier à octobre 2023, cette troupe européenne est accueillie dans chaque pays impliqué pour de courtes résidences, à l’issue desquelles naissent les prémices de projets de création.

Ce sont ces prémices qui seront présentées aux professionnels à l’Espace des Arts les 12 et 13 octobre 2023, sous forme orale et vidéo, et ouvertes le 13 au public qui serait curieux de découvrir ces ferments artistiques européens en ébullition, que nous cultivons pour l’avenir. En complément de ces présentations, Raphaël Gautier, jeune auteur associé à l’Espace des Arts, proposera une mise en voix de La Détente, récit décapant de la radicalisation d’une femme au sein d’un mouvement contre l’installation d’un projet nucléaire à côté de chez elle. Le focus JTE sera l’occasion d’accueillir pour la première fois la metteuse en scène grecque Elli Papakonstantinou avec The Bacchae [Les Bacchantes], grand spectacle théâtral, musical, chorégraphique, queer et pop, d’après Euripide.

As part of the Young European Theater for Young Audience project dedicated to multilingual creation, the Espace des Arts and the 6 associated European partners have brought together a group of 21 artists - playwrights, directors, and actors. Since January 2023, this European troupe has been hosted in each participating country for short residencies, that will go on until October. Each residency allows the roots of creation projects to emerge.

These bubbling European artistic ferments will be presented during oral presentations and video screenings of five projects, at the Espace des Arts, on Thursday, October 12th, or Friday, October 13th, 2023. In addition to these presentations, Raphaël Gautier, a young playwright associated with the Espace des Arts, will offer a table-read of "La Détente" on Friday, October 13th, 2023. This gripping narrative tells the story of a woman's radicalization within a movement fighting against the establishment of a nuclear project. The Young European Theatre Focus will also be an opportunity to welcome Greek director Elli Papakonstantinou with "The Bacchae", a grand theatrical, musical, choreographic, queer, and pop spectacle based on Euripides.

Initié par l’Espace des Arts, Scène nationale Chalon-sur-Saône, le Jeune Théâtre National et Instant Mix, le Projet Jeune Théâtre Européen Jeune Public (JTEJP) a reçu le soutien du Programme Europe Creative – European Cooperation Projects. Le Projet JTEJP est porté par 7 partenaires : l’Espace des Arts, Scène nationale Chalon-sur-Saône (Coordinateur - France), ArtFraction (Serbie), Art Veda (Tunisie), Jeune Théâtre National (France), National University of Ireland Galway (Irlande), Pedio Texnis (Grèce), Staastheater Mainz (Allemagne).

Expérience pilote, le Projet JTEJP a pour objectif de créer un théâtre multilingue imaginé par une communauté soudée d'artistes de cultures et de langues diverses. Un théâtre particulièrement destiné aux jeunes publics et à leurs familles, conçu dans un cadre social et une approche écologique, soutenu par une production transnationale innovante.

A pilot experiment, the JTEJP project aims at creating a multilingual theater envisioned by a closely-knit community of artists from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds. A kind of theater specifically designed for young audiences and their families, conceived within a social framework and with an ecological approach, supported by an innovative transnational production.
